Global land systems manufacturer OTOKAR and ROMTEHNICA signed a 4.3 billion Romanian lei (approximately EUR-857 Million) contract to supply 1,059 COBRA II armored vehicles to Romanian Ministry of Defense. Under the contract COBRA II 4x4 vehicles will be manufactured locally in Romania.
Romtehnica, the company of Romanian Ministry of Defense, has awarded Otokar a contract for the supply of 1,059 COBRA II tactical wheeled light armored vehicles at a value of approximately 4.3 billion RON (approximately EUR-857 Million) excluding VAT. The contract is signed on November 27, 2024 in Romania.
Within the scope of the contract, the first 278 COBRA II 4x4 armored vehicles will be manufactured in Türkiye while the rest will be manufactured in Romania. The deliveries are planned to be initiated in the last quarter of 2025 and be completed in batches over 5 years. The tender also includes some integrated logistics support services in addition to 1,059 4x4 Light Armored Tactical Wheeled Vehicles.

Download free sample pages More informationOn March 20, 2024 Otokar had submitted its bid for the tender for the purchase of 4x4 Light Armored Tactical Vehicles which opened by Romanian Ministry of National Defence's company C. N. Romtehnica S.A. (Romtehnica). Following the completion of the technical evaluation, field tests and commercial evaluation processes, on October 4, 2024 the official invitation letter for the discussions on the contract had been sent to Otokar by the tender authority.
