Slingshot Aerospace, a leader in AI-powered space domain awareness and operational intelligence solutions, has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, validating its ability to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in support of Department of Defense (DoD) missions. The certification reinforces Slingshot’s role as a trusted provider of AI-enabled capabilities operating within the nation’s most sensitive defense data environments.
Slingshot works closely with defense and government organizations such as The U.S. Space Force, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA to provide a unified operational picture by linking tracking data, advanced AI and secure data-sharing frameworks to maintain awareness and mission advantage. Achieving CMMC Level 2 enables Slingshot to securely deploy and scale its AI-powered tracking, modeling, and mission-planning capabilities within DoD environments that require enhanced protection of CUI. As defense organizations increasingly rely on AI to interpret vast and dynamic space data sets, secure infrastructure is no longer optional — it is foundational. This certification affirms Slingshot’s readiness to operate at that level.
“This achievement represents more than a compliance milestone for Slingshot Aerospace,” said Tim Solms, CEO. “It reaffirms our deep-rooted culture of excellence and our unwavering commitment to protecting the critical data that underpins U.S. and allied space missions. As a resilient, trusted partner to the defense community, we continue to raise the bar on cybersecurity—ensuring operators have the secure, reliable intelligence needed to maintain superiority in an increasingly contested orbital domain.”

The program provides the DoD with increased assurance that nonfederal information systems processing, storing, or transmitting Federal Contract Information (FCI) or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) during contract performance meet applicable security standards.
With CMMC Level 2 certification in place, Slingshot is positioned to accelerate participation in DoD programs requiring secure handling of CUI and to support long-duration mission programs where cybersecurity maturity is a condition of sustained award. The certification reduces friction to award and strengthens Slingshot’s ability to scale AI-enabled capabilities across the defense ecosystem.
Slingshot will continue investing in secure infrastructure to support the evolving cyber requirements of defense missions.
