New CMS for the German Navy - LM Canada and Hensoldt Cooperate on Harmonising the German CMS Landscape

HENSOLDT will act as Lockheed Martin Canada’s Germany-based contractor to support the integration of the CMS 330 Combat Management System into German naval platforms beginning in early 2026.

Sensor specialist, system integrator and solution provider HENSOLDT has been recognized by the German Federal Ministry of Defence, the Canadian Commercial Corporation and Lockheed Martin Canada as the Germany-based contractor for the integration of the Combat Management System (CMS 330) into select platforms of the German Navy.

Developed in Canada and trusted by the Royal Canadian Navy and allies for more than 15 years, CMS 330 integrates shipboard sensors, weapons and communications to provide real-time situational awareness and coordinated decision-making for the operator and command teams. The system’s open architecture ensures it remains adaptable to evolving operational requirements in a complex global security environment. The use of CMS 330 across allied navies enhances interoperability, reduces training and sustainment costs, and while accelerating critical decision timelines in multi-threat operations.
In just a few days, the HENSOLDT team will begin the initial analyses and studies prior to the actual integration of the CMS 330 into the ‘Bundeswehr system’, for example with regard to information security, design aspects and in-service support.
