Sweden to Procure Additional 94 Patria 6x6 Vehicles Through the CAVS Vehicle Programme

The Swedish Armed Forces has tasked The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) with procuring an additional order of 94 Patria 6x6 armoured vehicles, known as Pansarterrängbil 300 in Sweden. This order encompasses troop transport, command control (C2), and Medevac variants. The vehicles will be supplied by Patria, with substantial input from Swedish industry. The total value of the contract is approximately SEK 1.5 billion, or around 140 million in Euros.

“Sweden's decision to procure an additional batch of Patria 6x6 vehicles represents a solid sign of trust and the joint power of Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, which further solidifies the interoperability and security of supply among allied nations,” says Mats Warstedt, Vice President of Market Area Nordics at Patria.

In 2024, FMV ordered 321 Pansarterrängbil 300 vehicles and with this additional order, a total of 415 vehicles will be delivered to the Swedish Armed Forces during 2025 – 2030.

The order is being made within the framework of the Finnish-led multinational CAVS cooperation, where Sweden is a member nation together with Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom.

Patria with over four decades of experience in developing and delivering state-of-the-art protected troop transportation and system integration leads the 6x6 armoured vehicle system development as the prime contractor within the CAVS programme. The vast majority of vehicle supply is conducted by utilizing the member nations’ local industry capabilities and every nation is inherently reinforcing the security of supply for the whole collaboration system. Patria has already received orders for over 1,000 Patria 6x6 vehicles and has delivered more than 250 through the programme. The CAVS programme is open to countries with similar equipment requirements, by mutual consent of the participating countries.
