The Finnish Defence Forces Acquires Project Support from Patria for the Squadron 2020 Programme

Patria has signed a contract with the Finnish Defence Forces Logistic Command on Squadron 2020 programme´s project support expert services. Services include support for project management, engineering, and other expertise support.

“Patria is a strategic partner of Finnish Defence Forces and has a long history in Finnish Navy vessels´ Mid-Life Upgrade projects. Patria has been the Prime contractor and lead system integrator of Rauma and Hamina Class fast attack crafts´ Mid-Life Upgrades during 2010´s and 2020´s. Patria´s comprehensive expertise will now be utilized also in building Navy´s Pohjanmaa Class multi-role corvettes, which continues the deep cooperation between Patria and the Finnish Navy," comments Veli-Pekka Heinonen, Senior Vice President of Patria’s Finland Division Navy Business Area.  

Construction of the Pohjanmaa Class corvettes started in 2023 and the Squadron 2020 programme will be completed by 2029. The agreement on the programme’s support services will be valid until the end of 2025, after which its continuation until 2029 will be decided separately each year according to the needs of the Finnish Defence Forces.
