StandardAero has once again been re-approved to provide chemical plating support for the U.S. Air Education and Training Command’s (AETC) T-38 Talon Aircraft. This effort will support structural repairs performed at Randolph Air Force Base, under the Talon Repair Inspection and Maintenance (TRIM) program. TRIM performs depot-level maintenance to replace, or repair, key parts of the aircraft’s structure.
The T-38 Talon aircraft is a twin-engine, high-altitude, supersonic jet trainer used in a variety of roles because of its design, economy of operations, ease of maintenance, high performance and exceptional safety record. AETC is the primary user of the T-38 for joint specialized undergraduate pilot training. Air Combat Command, Air Force Materiel Command and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration also use the T-38A in various roles.
StandardAero has been supporting the U.S. Air Force for more than 25 Years, providing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) support across a number of engine and aircraft platforms. StandardAero first started providing plating services to Randolph A.F.B. in 2016. StandardAero’s chemical plating cell was established in 2000, and has been providing a range of specialized coatings for aircraft and engine MRO that include Chrome, Electrolytic, Nickel, Electroless Nickel, Cadmium, Silver and Copper plating. StandardAero also provides the processes necessary to chemically strip Chrome, Nickel, Silver, Copper, Lead and Cadmium.
