Recently, the StandardAero teams out of both our Langley and Richmond, British Columbia, Canada facilities proudly delivered the final two refurbished AS350B helicopters to the Tunisian Air Force, officially completing a multi-year, full-fleet modernization and refurbishment program.
StandardAero Langley transformed six 1980-era AS350 helicopters into modernized, purpose-built digital cockpit training aircraft in like-new condition. Work performed included full D-level structural refurbishment and alignment of the fuselage and tailboom, repair and modification of composite canopies and cowls, 12-year airframe inspections, custom interiors with new flooring and upholstery, custom exterior & interior paint, and a suite of safety and avionics upgrades.
Upgrades included StandardAero’s crash-resistant fuel tank, Genesys autopilot system, Garmin glass cockpit, crashworthy pilot & co-pilot seats, various mission equipment from Thales and Canyon, and a unique retrofit conversion to a Howell digital engine indication system.
