ECTI Hosts Live Seminar Series on ITAR, EAR and OFAC Export Controls in Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Export Compliance Training Institute (ECTI), a leading provider of U.S. export controls compliance training for businesses, organizations, governments, and universities/research institutions, is pleased to present its upcoming live seminar series in Amsterdam, Netherlands in early October.

The upcoming live export compliance seminars in Amsterdam will be held October 11 through October 14, 2021. Topics to be covered include:

• International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) Controls on Non-U.S. Transactions Seminar, October 11 and 12.
• Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Office of Foreign Assets Controls and Embargos (OFAC) Controls on Non-U.S. Transactions Seminar, October 13 and 14.

Participants can attend both seminars for an in-depth education on export control regulations administered by the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury as they apply to NL, EU, and other non-U.S.-based companies who use or resell U.S.-origin products, components or technology, as well as non-U.S.-located affiliates, parents, and subsidiaries of U.S. companies.

• Scott Gearity is President of ECTI and brings 20 years of consulting, training, and corporate export compliance program management experience. He has substantial expertise in military, dual-use, and commercial export controls. Prior to joining ECTI, Gearity managed Microsoft’s export compliance program for Europe, the Middle East and Africa from its base in Ireland and he continues to advise many non-U.S. companies affected by U.S. export controls.
• Maarten Sengers is an export compliance consultant based in Washington, DC and is a Principal of Trade Controls Consulting. He has well over 20 years of advisory experience on all aspects of EAR, ITAR and U.S. sanctions compliance. He works for a wide variety of companies in diverse industries both in and outside the U.S. Sengers was an original co-founder of ECTI and holds a Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary.
• Stephan Müller is a Partner of Oppenhoff, heading the firm’s public law practice group, which focuses on foreign trade law as well as environmental, public procurement and antitrust law. Stephan specializes in export control law, sanctions and compliance with a focus on the areas of anti-corruption, money laundering and internal investigations. Müller’s advice is particularly sought after in crisis situations and he has special experience in developing and implementing compliance structures. He also advises his clients in permission proceedings or before the administrative courts.
