Engineering and Operational Solutions Firm to Help Maintain, Repair and Modernize Systems at the Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC)

Rapid advancements in technology are an ongoing challenge for the Navy as it strives to modernize and extend the service life of the mechanical and electronics systems for submarines. To support this growing need, Alion Science and Technology, a global engineering, technology and operational solutions company, has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract valued at $63 million by the Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Norfolk, Va.

Alion will provide engineering, analytical, logistics and technical support for the submarine’s mechanical and electronics systems at MARMC. In particular, Alion will provide equipment and system expertise for a vast array of needs, including troubleshooting, repair, assessment, analysis and inspection. Additionally, the contract calls for Alion to support in root cause identification, maintenance training and long-term problem resolutions related to the equipment.

“We are committed to helping the Navy prepare for potential threats to national security, which includes supporting MARMC’s plan to maintain and modernize the systems on its fleet of submarines,” said Greg Bryant, Alion Manager of the Integration Solutions Group. “Our experienced talent pool of submariners is well-versed in predictive and condition-based maintenance tools that are more effective in anticipating the need for assistance.”
