Suzanne Palmer, President, Export Compliance Solutions, a former Licensing Officer at the State Department, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), with 20 years of direct experience in the U.S. defense industry. After leaving the State Department, Ms. Palmer joined Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems in Baltimore and then went on to work at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. Ms. Palmer combined this unique experience to found ECS in 2003. The ECS team provides training to help compliance officials successfully apply U.S. export control regulations and establish viable export compliance programs. Ms. Palmer has worked on the Defense Trade Advisory Group (DTAG), was appointed to serve as a Special Compliance Officer (SCO) for a company operating under a Consent Agreement and is an active speaker for various professional organizations.
Marc Binder. Marc is a co-founder and principal partner in the Import / Export Compliance Consulting Firm International Trade Compliance Strategies (ITC Strategies). ITC Strategies (established 2007) is a comprehensive Export and Import Compliance consulting business, which offers a wide range of services from one-time compliance assessments to the development of complete corporate compliance programs. Prior to joining ITC Strategies, Marc was the Director of Customs Compliance for Goodrich Corporation, where he was responsible for developing and managing the Corporate Customs Compliance program. Prior to joining Goodrich, Marc was Director of Customs and Export Compliance for TRW Automotive, and prior to that he was Manager of Import and Export Licensing and Compliance for Lockheed Martin – Government Electronics Systems in Moorestown, NJ.
Marc is currently serving as President of the Society for International Affairs (SIA) and is a former two-term member of the Department of Commerce Regulations and Procedures Technical Advisory Committee (RPTAC) and a former three-term member of the Department of State, Defense Trade Advisory Group (DTAG). He is a licensed Customs Broker and was certified in the fields of Defense logistics and Hazardous Materials Transportation. Marc has been active in the International Logistics, Export and Import fields for the past 30 plus years.
Marc holds a Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and has graduated from the Wharton Management Program, University of Pennsylvania. He also received a certificate in Transportation and Distribution Management from Pennsylvania State University as well as training in Defense Packaging of Hazardous Materials for Transportation at the School of Military Packaging Technology at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Marc is a native of Philadelphia, PA and now resides in the Annapolis, MD area.
