GE Aerospace today announced that AirAsia, one of the world’s leading low-cost carriers, will be using Fuel Insight to strengthen its fuel efficiency strategy across its fleet. This marks a renewed collaboration between AirAsia and GE Aerospace’s Software as a Service business, reinforcing the reliability and proven value of the technology platform.
Fuel Insight will provide the AirAsia Aviation Group, including all its Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) in Southeast Asia, with a group-wide solution to help optimize fuel use and improve flight operations. By leveraging advanced analytics and tools based on real flight and operational data, AirAsia’s operations team will be able to identify key opportunities to enhance fuel performance, improve route planning and reduce unnecessary burn. These insights are expected to drive cost savings and enhance operational reliability and sustainability by identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary fuel burn.
Datuk Captain Chester Voo, Deputy Group CEO (Airline Operations) of AirAsia Aviation Group said: “This relationship is a strategic step forward in strengthening how we manage fuel efficiency across the Group. GE Aerospace’s technology enables us to make smarter, data-informed decisions that support both our cost-efficiency and sustainability strategies, helping us operate more efficiently and in turn, offer more competitive fares for our guests.”
