  • Integrating Electronic Warfare & Cyber Operations Across the Full Spectrum of Conflict
  • March 11-12, 2020
  • Washington, DC, United States

Our Information Warfare Symposium is designed as an educational and training "Town Hall" forum, where thought leaders and key policy-makers across military services, government agencies, acquisition authorities, academia & industry will be brought together for actionable discussions and debate on how to further electronic warfare and cyber operations for the future military mission. The Information Warfare Symposium will focus on initiatives to provide the mission integration of IW at the operational and tactical levels. It will detail how EW & Cyber will enable the Warfighter to be combat-ready in contested information environments and assist in their understanding of where persistent adversaries are operating, all in an effort to ensure a more lethal force and deny the enemy the ability to control the spectrum.

Topics of Discussion:

  • Providing C4/Cyber Capabilities to the Joint Warfighter to enable them to fight & win in contested information environments
  • Delivering Full-spectrum Electronic Warfare & Cyber Across Army's Multi-Domain Operations
  • Furthering USAF's goal to compete in the Great Power Competition by bringing conflict in the information environment to the adversary's front lines
  • Enabling the effective training & equipping of the Fleet in order to decisively deter, compete, & win in the information environment
  • Advancing the integration of information warfare to the tactical edge: Ensuring more resilient USMC information operations
  • Ensuring the hardening of weapon systems to defend against an enemy's EW or cyber attack
  • Leveraging information warfare tools such as ISR to help expose the adversary across a range of conflicts such as the Gray Zone

Why You Should Attend This Symposium:

The current administration is aiming to boost EW and other IW capability spending by $1.48 billion come 2021 (a 16.3 percent increase). "EW is the No. 1 functional area where investments need to be made in the coming years," said Gen. (Ret) Joseph Dunford, Former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who retired in September. At Our 2nd Information Warfare Symposium, military services, government agencies, acquisition authorities, academia & industry will be brought together to further discuss how electronic warfare and cyber operations will help facilitate the future military mission. This event will detail the current and future Joint Force efforts to synchronize mission areas of ISR, electronic warfare, cyber, and information operations to ensure the ability to fight and win wars across all Warfighting domains. EW & Cyber capabilities will enable the Warfighter to be combat-ready in contested information environments and assist in their understanding of where persistent adversaries are operating.

Senior-level speakers at this Symposium will offer perspective into how IW will ensure combatant commanders increased interoperability, reliability, and actionability. They will also address the need for collaborative efforts among military, government, & allied partners to utilize information warfare techniques to ensure the Warfighter will be able to effectively deal with threats on social media, disrupt adversary operations, and achieve military deception on the battlefield. The panel for this Symposium, which will feature DoD/Industry prime speakers, will examine the importance of weapons systems hardening using sophisticated software programs for increased sustainment, in order to help protect against EW & cyber-attacks. Finally, this event will explain how the rise of such capabilities will require IW experts to be rapidly deployed to various brigades throughout the military, to assist combatant commanders to be more agile in their decision-making & help create a more decisive overmatch on the adversary.
