AeroVironment Announces Launch of New England Innovation Center, the Company's First Engineering Operation Outside of California

  • New operation to expand advanced engineering and innovation capacity in key region to support AeroVironment's growth strategy
  • Led by Tom Vaneck, former vice president of InstantEye Robotics
  • Special recruiting event featuring top AeroVironment leadership scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 1 at Xponential

AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global leader in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for both defense and commercial applications, today announced the creation of its New England Innovation Center (NEIC). The new office will lead development of advanced solutions complementing AeroVironment’s market-leading small UAS and furthering the company’s growth strategy.

Vaneck served as vice president of InstantEye Robotics, a division of Physical Sciences, Inc. Previously, he served as general manager of Aurora Flight Sciences’ Cambridge Research and Development Center. Vaneck earned a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University, and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Master of Arts in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Penn State University.

AeroVironment is actively seeking top talent for its New England and Simi Valley operations, with more than 70 open positions, and will hold a special interactive recruiting event at AUVSI XPONENTIAL. The event is titled “The Power of People and Culture,” and will feature senior AeroVironment leadership starting at 1:30 p.m. CT on May 1, in The Idea Room – hosted by AeroVironment (room #505A of McCormick Place).
