LifePort Announces AeroSled Upgrade at AMTC

LifePort, a Sikorsky company, announced an AeroSled TS product upgrade today at the annual Air Medical Transport Conference.  The design is based on feedback from the operator community and will significantly increase the durability of medical stretchers used on board civilian helicopters.  Sikorsky is a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT).

The upgrade of this legacy product provides operators a more robust product that reduces maintenance:

  • Reduced maintenance due to replacing a cable system with a mechanical linkage
  • Upgraded system was endurance tested to 100,000 cycles without degradation
  • Upgrade can be done on site, simplifying retrofit of existing units

The LifePort AeroSled family of stretchers offers customers multiple stretcher options depending on the medical operation’s flight parameters.  All AeroSled stretchers feature automatic locking and a single-hand release, thereby allowing for easy handling inside the aircraft.
