The European defence procurement agency OCCAR has commissioned the consortium formed by HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH and Theon Sensors S.A. to supply an additional 100,000 night vision goggles to the German Armed Forces and 4,000 to the Belgian Armed Forces.
This procurement for the German and Belgian armed forces will further strengthen European interoperability. Since 2021, more than 50,000 night vision goggles have already been delivered to these European armed forces. The goal is to supply more than 178,000 units by the end of 2030.
The scope of delivery for the Mikron night vision goggles also includes an In-Service Support (ISS) agreement. This is intended to strengthen the night vision and operational capabilities of both armed forces in the long term.
