The Army is evolving its Command and Control (C2) to meet the challenge, building an open, modular and data-centric architecture designed for mission dominance in contested domains. L3Harris is evolving alongside them. To support the Army’s next-generation C2 vision and ensure spectrum dominance, the company is delivering four new advanced solutions - the new AN/PRC-158C Next Generation C2 Gateway Manpack, a new high-data-throughput waveform, and a new tactical voice gateway adaptor - to ensure a successful adaptation of the transport layer.
The NGC2 Gateway Manpack: High-Throughput and Resiliency
The new NGC2 Gateway Manpack delivers high-throughput resiliency in a multi-channel routing device designed for both vehicular and dismount multi-domain operations. Built for existing Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit (HMS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) users, it enables seamless data routing across waveforms with embedded Denali® encryption, reducing transition costs with drop-in compatibility to existing mounts and kits. The result is a versatile system designed to scale from the edge to the enterprise while minimizing the burden on the operator, which is critical as the Army moves to field an integrated and scalable suite of C2 warfighting capabilities.
TSM™ HDR+ Waveform: Scaling Data-Heavy Operations
The TSM™ HDR+ waveform delivers the scale and capacity needed for data-heavy operations, delivering up to 50 Mbps and supporting as many as 800 nodes. By enabling mission applications to flow without bottlenecks, HDR+ extends capacity . The waveform operates seamlessly on existing field systems AN/PRC-171, AN/PRC-158C, AN/PRC-167 and AN/PRC-163, extending resilient connectivity from the dismounted soldier to the command post.

L3Harris delivers this resilience through the industry’s broadest set of waveforms hosted within a single, software-defined architecture. The company’s portfolio spans from SINCGARS FH3 capability with new features and enduring interoperability; to MUOS for assured beyond-line-of-sight connectivity; Last Ditch Data for robust high-frequency performance; and ARROW, WRAITH and WREN™ narrowband for contested-spectrum dominance.
Tactical Gateway: Bridging Military and Commercial Networks
L3Harris offers tactical voice gateway adaptor options that extend Falcon radios beyond traditional tactical networks. They enable high-speed access to 5G/4G host-nation cellular networks, tactical Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi devices, effectively bridging the divide between military and commercial infrastructure. Acting as both a modem and edge processor, it delivers high-performance edge compute for mission applications in a low-SWaP (size, weight and power) form factor.
Enabling Interoperability for Secure Borders
To support the Department of War priority for secure borders, our new NGC2 solutions extend direct interoperability to federal and local law enforcement. The APCO Project 25 (P25) waveform is an establish ed digital land mobile radio technology that ensures different agencies, even with different types of equipment, can communicate with each other. P25 and P25 trunking in our tactical devices supports secure interoperability across agencies for seamless coordination.
Enabling the Backbone of Next Generation Command and Control
“As capabilities evolve to provide more fidelity from sensors across domains, we understand the need for higher throughput. At the same time, we have seen the criticality of device and network protection in facilitating mission success as well as soldier safety when conducting their missions. As the primary communications provider for the U.S. Army and Department of War, with continued success in supporting programs including HMS and Combat Net Radio (CNR), our message is simple: in terms of high data rates and secure networks, you can – and you must – have both.” said Sam Mehta, President, Communication Systems, L3Harris
With solutions that fuse resilient waveforms, adaptive transport and high-throughput connectivity, L3Harris is uniquely positioned to provide the backbone for the Army’s next-generation Command and Control. The company’s software-defined architecture advances an unified layer that grows alongside transport , infrastructure, data and applications while maintaining continuity under contested conditions. By uniting capacity with survivability, L3Harris helps ensure the Army’s path to NGC2 delivers not just speed, but the confidence that mission networks can endure the fight.
