Terma has successfully delivered 51 SCANTER 5202 radars to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), enhancing Sweden’s ability to monitor and protect its extensive coastline amid evolving security demands.
The delivery - one of the largest in Terma’s recent history - marks a significant modernization of Sweden’s coastal surveillance network, replacing legacy Terma systems in operation for over two decades. The upgraded SCANTER 5202 radars provide high-resolution detection of small surface vessels and low-flying aerial threats, enabling faster, more accurate decision-making in complex maritime environments.
"These radars represent a vital step forward in strengthening Sweden’s maritime domain awareness," said Thomas Blom, Senior Vice President of Terma Surveillance & Mission Systems. "In today’s unpredictable security landscape, high-performance surveillance systems like the SCANTER 5202 are critical to national resilience."
