GDLS Completes Digital XM30 CDR

General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced today that it successfully completed the Critical Design Review for the XM30 Infantry Combat Vehicle and is on track to deliver prototypes to the U.S. Army for testing in 2026.

Consistent with Army’s designation of XM30 as a “born-digital” pathfinder program, the first fully digital design review represented a significant step toward meeting the service’s intent to modernize the development process for combat vehicles.

“We have invested since day one of this program to deliver essential, transformational capabilities to the Army,” said Keith Barclay, General Dynamics Land Systems vice president and general manager of U.S. operations. “We also continue to collaborate with best-in-class technology partners and are very excited to bring their innovative solutions to the competition.”

General Dynamics Land Systems’ XM30 platform is purpose-built to meet the Army’s performance requirements to transform and dominate the battlefield. It also implements the Army’s imperative for a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) to software and hardware architectures from inception.

General Dynamics Land Systems’ born-digital design implements modern development tools to establish a digital thread that spans beyond engineering and into verification, production, support and sustainment, ensuring that the platform can be persistently modernized throughout its lifecycle.

“We fully embrace MOSA and digital engineering,” Barclay said. “They allow our engineering teams to implement capabilities that provide the Army more efficiency and more flexibility for future enhancements.

“We are proud that our years of innovation, research, development and investment have led to this moment in the XM30 program.”
