Anduril Awarded Program of Record Contract to Modernize Space Surveillance Network

Anduril has been awarded a $99.7 million Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract and a five-year Program of Record designation by U.S. Space Systems Command to deliver Lattice as a resilient mesh networking capability for the modernization of the U.S. Space Surveillance Network (SSN). This moment is crucial for the rapid deployment of the Space Domain Awareness Network (SDANet), a key initiative to update the Space Domain Awareness architecture, which is vital for the advancement of next-generation Space Command and Control (C2) systems.

Anduril’s ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions at an accelerated pace was key to securing this contract. The U.S. Space Command has mandated full deployment by the end of 2026, and Anduril is ready to meet that demand with a fully integrated site deployment schedule that enables delivering these modernization efforts to meet the needs of the U.S. Space Command.

Lattice is replacing outdated systems with a robust, modern architecture designed to not only meet current needs but to evolve as new threats emerge. SDANet will replace legacy communications systems with a resilient mesh network capable of facilitating seamless sensor-to-sensor tasking, rapid data sharing with mission partners, and unparalleled flexibility to onboard new systems or partners swiftly. the platform's flexibility provided a solution for today and tomorrow's threats and is basis for Program of Record memorandum to implement across the entire Space Surveillance Network. SDANet is a solution for today and tomorrow.

At Anduril, we know that no solution works in isolation. Our system is built for interoperability, integrating with other critical U.S. Space Force (USSF) systems. We are already deploying to international locations, contributing data into the Unified Data Library for mission partners to leverage, and are in discussions to integrate with other key projects across the USSF’s Space Domain Awareness architecture. By ensuring these systems work cohesively, we’re creating a tool that maximizes value for end users across the space domain.

The Space Surveillance Network, a global web of ground-based sensors tracking key space assets and debris, needs modernization now more than ever. With Lattice, Anduril is providing a cutting-edge, resilient mesh communications architecture that links sensors, data repositories, and command and control nodes with low-latency, high-bandwidth connections. Our commitment to meeting the SDANet mission requirements ensures that the U.S. Space Force has the tools to maintain space domain awareness and warfighting capabilities, both now and in the future.

Anduril’s journey in the space sector began at the 2021 Space Force Pitch Day, quickly advancing from a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II initiative to a Phase III project, and now, a full Program of Record. Few programs achieve such rapid progression in just four years, but our pace of innovation and delivery through partnership with the USSF is unmatched.

Since 2022, Anduril has worked with Space Systems Command to enhance the communications and networking infrastructure of the Space Surveillance Network, delivering resilient mesh networking capabilities to link distributed ground sensors. With operational success already demonstrated in Hawaii, we’re on track for full-time operational usage in the upcoming months. Anduril continues to push the envelope, developing new capabilities to meet the needs of space guardians.

Our efforts are not just about delivering new technology — they’re about delivering the right technology, fast. By leveraging our internally funded hardware and software payloads, Anduril is ensuring that our platform-agnostic approach brings cutting-edge, affordable capabilities to the national security space domain. As we’ve proven across air, land, and sea, Anduril is dedicated to rapidly delivering software-defined, hardware-enabled solutions to address the most complex challenges facing the U.S. and its allies. In September, we announced that we are expanding out capabilities to Space and recently announced partnerships with Apex and Impulse to help advance this collaborative mission.
