Engility Awarded Systems Engineering Task Order with DoD

Work impacts major defense programs valued in the billions of dollars

Engility Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: EGL) has been awarded a prime position on the $240 million Professional Engineering Services indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. The IDIQ vehicle covers statutory and regulatory policy, guidance, specialty engineering and human capital functions.

In addition to securing a spot on the Professional Engineering Services IDIQ, Engility was awarded a $42 million task order to help the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) / Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Engineering (DASD(SE)) develop, update and disseminate the policy and guidance used for DoD-wide systems engineering acquisition. The team will also conduct strategic studies in areas such as cyber security, software assurance and trusted and assured microelectronics.

“The cyber components of this win continue to position Engility as a leader in this critical capability. Our team will help DoD clients address cyber security in areas like hardware, software, firmware and supply chain vulnerabilities,” said Engility CEO Lynn Dugle. “We have a long-standing relationship with the DASD(SE), and we value the opportunity to partner with them on reducing the risks to our nation’s largest defense platforms.”

The initial task order, which impacts programs valued in the billions of dollars, also includes services in modular open systems architectures, digital engineering, reliability and maintainability, manufacturing, anti-tamper/anti-counterfeit, program protection, value engineering and human-systems interfaces.

Only three companies were awarded positions on the Professional Engineering Services IDIQ. Both the IDIQ and task order were made in the fourth quarter of 2016. The task order has a 9-month base with four 1-year option periods and continues existing work.
