Exelis and Partner U&U Engineering Receive Order in Excess of $10 M from Taiwan for Night Vision Tubes

Exelis (NYSE: XLS) and partner U&U Engineering have been awarded a contract valued at more than $10 million to provide the government of Taiwan with night vision tubes.

“This is our first contract award of night vision equipment for the Taiwanese military, and we will work diligently with our partner U&U Engineering to deliver our renowned Gen 3 quality tubes”

The contract, awarded competitively, is a direct commercial sale contract and deliveries for this order will take place during the first six months of 2015.

Exelis will deliver its generation 3 night vision equipment that is designed for a variety of night operations conducted by military customers around the world. Gen 3 tube technology is the clearest and most advanced available. It provides the soldier with superior visibility and greater mobility in low-light conditions to ensure mission effectiveness. Soldiers equipped with Gen 3 night vision technology have increased situational awareness and a significant tactical advantage on the battlefield.

Production for this contract will take place at the Exelis night vision manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Virginia.
