Exelis (NYSE: XLS) and partner U&U Engineering have been awarded a contract valued at more than $10 million to provide the government of Taiwan with night vision tubes.

The contract, awarded competitively, is a direct commercial sale contract and deliveries for this order will take place during the first six months of 2015.

Gen 3 tube technology is the clearest and most advanced available. It provides the soldier with superior visibility and greater mobility in low-light conditions to ensure mission effectiveness. Soldiers equipped with Gen 3 night vision technology have increased situational awareness and a significant tactical advantage on the battlefield.

Production for this contract will take place at the Exelis night vision manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Virginia.
