Serco Awarded $31 Million Single-Award IDIQ to Support U.S. Military
RESTON, Va. , Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services, announced the Company has been awarded a new single-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide installation support for Close-In Weapons Systems (CIWS) on U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard vessels. This contract has a one-year base period plus two option years, with a ceiling value of $31 million .
Under the contract, Serco will perform installations, upgrades and modifications to the CIWS, a point-defense weapon for detecting and destroying low- and high-flying, high-speed maneuvering anti-ship missile threats that have penetrated outer defenses. These systems are typically mounted shipboard in a naval capacity. Work on the contract is expected to be performed in Norfolk, VA ; San Diego, CA ; Pearl Harbor, HI ; Everett, WA ; Mayport, FL ; and, various overseas ports.

This contract builds upon Serco's current set of Navy C4ISR contracts under which the Company is providing installation and upgrade support on Navy vessels.
