OSI Systems Awarded $4 M Contract to Provide Explosives and Narcotics Trace Detection Systems

OSI Systems, Inc. (the “Company” or “OSI Systems”) (NASDAQ: OSIS) today announced that its Security division was awarded a contract valued at approximately $4 million by an international airport to provide multiple units of its Itemiser® 4DX explosives and narcotics detection system and follow-on service and spare parts support.

OSI Systems’ Chairman and CEO, Deepak Chopra, stated, “We are pleased that this prominent customer selected the Itemiser 4DX trace detection system to enhance its checkpoint security at one of the busiest airports in the world.”

The Itemiser® 4DX can detect a broad range of current market threat explosives and narcotics without the use of a radioactive source, thereby potentially eliminating shipping restrictions and related licensing requirements. The portable, ergonomic desktop unit features automated internal calibration to help decrease consumable cost and optimize ongoing equipment operation.
