Safran & Skyted Sign an Exclusive Partnership to Bring Silent, Confidential Communication Into RAVE IFEC Solutions

Skyted, the deeptech startup pioneering silent and confidential voice communication announces the signing of an exclusive agreement with Safran Passenger Innovations (SPI), a leader in In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) solutions, to integrate silent call technology into SPI’s RAVE In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems. This strategic collaboration marks a major milestone for secured inflight calls, aiming to reshape the passenger experience through a disruptive approach to inflight communication.

Skyted technology captures voice at its source and limits its diffusion in noisy environments, making possible:

  • Confidential conversations on board without disturbing other passengers, reducing the need for cabin crew to remind passengers to speak more quietly
  • A quieter cabin
  • Increased productivity for business travelers
  • An enhanced and more secure IFE experience

SPI is dedicated to partnering with breakthrough solutions via its RAVE Open Platform. SPI’s Open Platform enables leading edge technologies to be embedded seamlessly within the RAVE IFE system. SPI’s vision is to continually offer new digital services via the Open Platform.

“As truly broadband connectivity grows in the market, SPI’s goal is to bring airlines new digital experiences that anticipate future passenger needs and support the connected environment. Integrating Skyted’s technology introduces a truly disruptive onboard capability: silent, confidential communication that fully preserves cabin quietness and supports an office in the sky” states Mr. John Andrews, VP of Business Development.

“What if 300 passengers could make a call in an aircraft at the same time? With Skyted, this scenario becomes real: speak softly, be heard clearly even on confidential matters, and do not disturb passengers around you,” says Stéphane Hersen, CEO of Skyted.

This collaboration also aligns with Skyted’s broader development roadmap. By combining industrial excellence with breakthrough deeptech innovation, SPI and Skyted are opening the door to a new era: onboard communication that is possible, silent, and confidential without ever compromising cabin quietness. A significant technological leap forward for passengers, airlines, and the future of air travel.
