We were excited to watch a late night and flawless launch of the SXRS-1 mission from Florida. Our customer BlackSky had two satellites on board, in addition to SpaceX’s 57 Starlink satellites. Both BlackSky payloads, Global-7 and Global-8 were successfully deployed. These BlackSky satellites were the first satellites made by LeoStella, a satellite manufacturer and joint venture of Thales Alenia Space and Spaceflight Industries.
The late night launch made for some stunning photos! We’re already looking forward to our next rideshare launch with SpaceX scheduled for no earlier than December 2020.
