Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions (CAES), a leading provider of critical electronics solutions for space, air, land and sea applications, announced today that it was recently visited and recognized by Lockheed Martin for being an important supplier to the development of NASA’s Orion spacecraft. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for Orion, NASA’s deep space exploration spacecraft that will take humans out to the Moon as part of the Artemis program and later out to Mars.
Cobham supplies its RF interconnect solutions including cables for the Orion spacecraft. A presentation was recently held at Cobham’s Exeter, New Hampshire facility, to thank Cobham employees for their dedication to the mission. The event was also attended by state representatives including Dalton McLaughlin of Congressman Chris Pappas’ office, Michele Cota of US Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s office and Kathy Corson, Select Board Chair for Town of Exeter.
“America’s unmatched legacy in space is built in part by companies like Cobham and their dedicated workers,” said Larry Price, Orion deputy program manager at Lockheed Martin Space. “It’s important to come to the locations where critical parts are being built and tell these employees first-hand, ‘thank you’ and share with them the exciting activities around Orion and also for Artemis, NASA’s effort to work and live on the Moon.”
“We greatly appreciate this recognition by Lockheed Martin. The Cobham Exeter team is proud to be part of this exciting program of such importance to our nation. Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions has provided our RF Interconnect Solutions for design into the Orion spacecraft,” said Thomas Casale, Vice President and General Manager, CNI and Interconnect Solutions (CIS), Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions. “We have developed a close working relationship with Lockheed Martin to collaborate together for these projects as well as future developments for the commercial space market. As a leading supplier of interconnect solutions to the entire space industry, this recognition just adds to our heritage. Our unique capabilities to design and deliver state- of- the- art, low loss, phase match cable sets make all of this possible.”
