Pratt & Whitney joined Wizz Air in celebrating the 100th aircraft, an Airbus A321 aircraft powered by V2500® engines, entering the Hungarian airline’s fleet earlier this week.
In 2019, the airline is expected to begin taking delivery of up to 200 A320neo family aircraft, which will be powered by the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engines.
“Our V2500 engines have been powering Wizz Air since its first flight in 2004, and we’re honored to power today’s 100th aircraft,” said Jessica Villardi, regional vice president for Europe, Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States at Pratt & Whitney. “We look forward to continuing to power the Wizz fleet for years to come.”
