ITTs Cannon Brand to Showcase Soldier-Worn Interconnect Solutions at AUSA/ILW 2018

Innovative Connector Portfolio Optimizes Mobility and Improves Decision Making for Soldiers on the Battlefield Today While Evolving to Meet Their Future Challenges

ITT Inc.'s (NYSE:ITT) Cannon brand will highlight its innovative solutions for soldier-worn applications during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Institute of Land Warfare (ILW) Global Force Symposium and Exposition March 26-28, 2018 Booth #200A at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

During AUSA/ILW Global Force 2018, ITT Cannon will feature its next-generation soldier-worn connector solutions, which are designed to perform under the extreme shock, exposure, vibration and harsh conditions of military environments.

"ITT Cannon interconnect solutions are designed to meet the evolving needs of today's modern military," said Mike Savage, director of product management. "On land, air, sea and space, our small, lightweight harsh environment connectors improve mobility, secure and maintain connectivity, and support decision making for soldiers in the field. From foot patrols to combat missions, Cannon interconnects are engineered to the highest quality standards and built for performance and reliability, no matter the environment."

ITT Cannon will showcase a variety of interconnect solutions for soldier-worn applications during AUSA/ILW 2018, including:

  • Nemesis II CBA (20+ Meters) for Soldier-Worn Applications – The next generation of ITT Cannon's Nemesis miniature circular connector product line, the Nemesis II CBA features proprietary high pressure sealing that is designed and tested for water submersion to 20+ Meters (65.6 Feet)—among the highest in the industry. Small, lightweight and highly reliable, the Nemesis II CBA blends high speed, high mating and quick termination to perform reliably in extreme conditions, making it ideally suited for battlefield communication devices and applications such as manpack and hand-held radios. It delivers reliable power, signal and data in a smaller, more robust and integrated design package.
  • Rock-in-Lock™ (RIL) Latching Connector for Soldier-Worn Applications – RIL is a push-and-plug, single-handed connector that provides reliable signal integrity. Its quick-latching mechanism enables plug and unplug functionality without any special tools. The RIL is designed as a small receptacle connector about the size of a flash drive that can be worn on a soldier or first responder's helmet, or attached to field-use computer tablets. It is low profile, lightweight and capable of transferring a significant amount of power or data needed for everything from augmented reality goggles to tactical combat radios.
  • MKJ Clip Lock for Military & Defense Applications – The MKJ Clip Lock fulfills a need for reliable, cost-efficient mini-circular connectors that deliver the highest level of performance. Easy-to-use and install, its innovative quick-connect clip lock feature was originally designed for the automotive industry. It offers multiple keying options to prevent miss-mating, with 6 clocking positions, high-density size 23 machine contacts, and is available in 4, 6, 7 and 10 positions and fully machined aluminum shells. This innovative connector solution is field repairable and available for soldier-worn systems in a Cannon breakaway design option.

ITT Cannon's soldier-worn solutions support the need for connectivity by enabling emerging high-speed protocols across a wide range of applications including hand-held and manpack radios, situational awareness GPS devices, battery packs, tablets, laptops, weapons control, night vision headsets and many more.

"When the difference in mission success or failure is a matter of seconds, our interconnect solutions transmit data, power and signal faster and more reliably so that soldiers have the information they need to make snap decisions," Savage said. "Our soldier-worn solutions help maintain communication and transmission of mission-critical information when they need it most."
