From 27 to 30 November 2017, Rheinmetall will be showcasing its innovative solutions in the world of simulation and training at I/ITSEC 2017 in Orlando.
The tradeshow’s motto is “Harnessing new technologies to win in a complex world”, while Rheinmetall Electronics has adopted the slogan “Train to perform”, neatly encapsulating its latest training solutions for ground, air and maritime applications.
A world premiere: Rheinmetall’s “Osiris” command and staff training system
For the first time ever, Rheinmetall will be presenting its “Osiris” command and staff training system to visitors and the general public alike. Osiris currently numbers among the world’s leading software products in the field of constructive simulation. Thanks to Osiris, commanders and staff officers of military formations and units can conduct exercises at the tactical, operational and strategic level in a realistic operating environment. In the process, the unfolding situation is depicted at platoon, company, battalion, and brigade level as well as at higher echelons. Osiris is thus the natural first choice for customers who want to sharpen their leadership capabilities and decision-making processes in a highly automated environment.
Legatus live simulation
Rheinmetall is also showcasing the latest advances in the ongoing development of its modular Legatus live simulation system, underscoring the Group’s leading role in this domain. Further miniaturization of critical components and the reduction of installation times through optimized design figure prominently here, as do software updates. Simpler, faster adjustment of weapons and quick, error-free installation of MOUT components in buildings enable customers to spend more time engaged in actual training operations. In addition, the use of widespread standards leads to greater compatibility with the products of other manufacturers. This makes it possible to do a better job of meeting important performance criteria for live simulation systems.
A leading developer and manufacturer of simulation technology
For over forty years, Rheinmetall has been a world leader in developing and fabricating simulation technology. The spectrum ranges from computer-supported learning to ground, air and maritime vehicle simulators for crew training operations, right through to major training centres for staging tactical exercises for entire military formations using their original
equipment. In the “Top International” category, Rheinmetall just recently won a prize at the “Industry Simulation and Training Awards 2017” event.
Moreover, visitors at I/ITSEC can find out about high-performance, made-to-measure solutions like the simulation technology for the Embraer KC390 transport aircraft, the cargo loader simulator part task trainer (PTT) for the A400M transport aircraft, as well as state-of-the-art simulation applications for submarines and surface vessels. Needless to say, Rheinmetall experts will be on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding the Group’s activities in the field of simulation and training.
