Argon Delivers PlumeSIM instrumented CBRN training system to Austrian CBRN Defence School

The Austrian CBRN Defence Command based in Korneuburg have enhanced their CBRN training capability as a result of an investment in PlumeSIM, Argon’s Live instrumented CBRN field and virtual Tabletop CBRN / HazMat training system.

Supported by a number of RDS200 radiological simulators and LCD3.3 Chemical Warfare simulators, this new capability will enable the Command to implement a wide variety of Tabletop and Live Field Chemical Warfare, HazMat and Radiological CBRN exercises without the need to use any form of chemical warfare agent of simulant, or radiological sources.

Colonel Michael Schuster of the Austrian CBRN Defence Command, where CBRN education and training is delivered, reported “Large scenarios, which caused an immense input of simulants or were impossible to display, are now planned and executed easily. The lesson learned process is well supported via the After Action Review function. That leads to a high extend of simulation effectiveness.”

“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which further demonstrates the acceptance of Argon CBRN training solutions, especially PlumeSIM, as the system of choice for the world’s leading CBRN / HazMat training facilities. Argon simulation systems help overcome restrictions in the use of CWA simulants and live radiological sources enabling our customers to provide realistic, effective training without compromising their environmental credentials or impacting upon health and safety” commented Steven Pike, Managing Director of Argon, adding “Although regrettable, realistic, effective and engaging CBRN / Hazmat training is no longer an option but a necessity in today’s climate.”
