DoD Cybersecurity Support and Services Contract

CSRA Inc. (NYSE: CSRA) has won a task order through the Department of Defense Joint Service Provider program to develop and deploy an in-depth security network strategy that will deter and neutralize malicious activities for various offices within the Pentagon. The $114 million task order was awarded under the CIO-SP3 contract vehicle, and has a period of performance over four and a half years.

Under the task order, CSRA will protect government networks by blocking, detecting, reacting and responding to network incidents as well as leveraging tactics, techniques and procedures to prevent future incidents from occurring. CSRA will also work with U.S. Cyber Command and other government agencies to provide situational awareness about incidents and potential network threats.

"Often times, highly sophisticated technology is seen as the top defense against a cyberattack or intrusion," said Ken Deutsch, CSRA executive vice president, Defense Group. "While having the right technology in place is a critical element of a successful cybersecurity plan, we've found that developing and deploying a comprehensive network strategy, and collaborating with other parts of the government, is equally as important and needed to defend an organization's IT system effectively."
