Chloropac Systems for Australian Navy Frigates

Evoqua Water Technologies has been selected by BAE Systems Australia Ltd. to design and deliver technology and products that prevent marine growth in seawater cooling systems for installation onto the Royal Australian Navy ANZAC Class frigates.

Evoqua’s expertise and existing relationships with the Australian, US and UK Navies assisted greatly to position its Chloropac® system as a well suited technology for the remaining life of each ship.

Evoqua will deliver these Chloropac systems for installation onto eight ANZAC Class frigates over the next six years.

Chloropac seawater electrochlorination systems are a proven method of preventing marine and biological fouling using technically superior equipment for energy efficient, long-term plant operation. This application generates a dilute, safe solution of sodium hypochlorite from natural seawater for direct injection into the sea water cooling circuits and sea chests.

Evoqua has more than 2,500 Chloropac systems installed worldwide through its Electrocatalytic family of products.
