Today Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL; “ALC”) announced the delivery of one new LEAP-1A26-powered Airbus A320-200neo aircraft on lease to SKY Airline (Chile). This A320-200neo aircraft is the first of three A320-200neo aircraft set to deliver to SKY Airline from ALC’s order book with Airbus.
“ALC is pleased to announce this A320-200neo delivery to our new customer, SKY Airline,” said John L. Plueger, Air Lease Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer and President. “ALC is the first lessor to introduce the A320-200neo to SKY and we look forward to a successful long-term relationship with the airline.”
“This new A320-200neo marks a milestone in the history of SKY and is the first of 21 deliveries that will culminate in 2021 and replace the current fleet. These new aircraft will establish SKY as the leading low-cost airline with the most modern and fuel-efficient fleet in South America. Our new fleet will have triple impact: efficient, safe and sustainable,” said Holger Paulmann, Chief Executive Officer of SKY Airline.
