CTT SYSTEMS (“CTT”)(STO:CTT), the market leader of anti-condensation systems for commercial aircraft and the dominating provider of humidification products for cockpit, crew rest and cabin areas, today announces that Germanwings part of the Lufthansa Group, has ordered two Zonal Drying System for a 12 months evaluation trial.
Germanwings will install the anti-condensation Zonal Drying System in two A319 aircraft. The primary objective with the trial is to quantify the weight savings. In a typical A319 the Zonal Drying excess weight reduction will be 150-200 kg cutting fuel burn and emissions. This lowers airline operational costs significantly and in addition the airline benefit from other savings such as reduced failure rate of electrical components and replacement of blankets.
“CTT is pleased to receive this trial order from Germanwings to evaluate the Zonal Drying System performance to prevent fuselage condensation and moisture increase in the A319 aircraft. We expect to see a weight reduction of at least 150 to 200 kg by removing moisture from the insulation blankets and we also expect a significant failure rate reduction of electrical units and antennas,” says Peter Landquist, Vice President Sales & Marketing of CTT Systems.
