Etihad Airways Signs Up with Airlogica

(September 18, 2006) -- Airlogica, one of the leading companies in distribution software, specializes in improving an airlines' revenue management options and was chosen by Etihad after a competitive bidding process.

Zeus, the Airlogica product selected, will provide the airline with a greater understanding of distribution trends, making it easier to control Global Distribution System (GDS) costs.

"By having Etihad Airways on board, Airlogica is continuing to expand its customer base in the Middle East region. Etihad identified the added value in our solutions, which will assist them to analyze the Billing Information Data Transfer (BIDT) and decrease their distribution costs," said Peter Pont, Airlogica's general manager for the EMEA region.

Mr. Pont added, "In addition to helping with cost efficiencies, Zeus will also allow Etihad Airways to monitor bookings made by travel agents and, as a result, be in the best position to adapt to customer changes."

"Etihad understands how important it is to keep up-to-date with industry trends and ticketing activity, which is why we believe that this new system will prove to be an invaluable tool," said Ali Saleh Al Bloushi, head of revenue management at Etihad Airways.

"After an extensive review we have identified Airlogica's Zeus as the best available product to manage the challenging area of our distribution costs across the GDSs. Furthermore, Zeus will allow us to gain a deeper understanding of all travel agent bookings, which we are confident will lead to a decrease in GDS costs and, in turn, will enable us to continue offering our Guests a superior service."

At its core, Etihad Airways continues to seek new ways in which to expand its services and provide innovative benefits for its Guests.

This new venture with Airlogica follows the recent launch of the carrier's pioneering Etihad Guest programme, a loyalty scheme which challenges the traditional airline approach and instead responds to customer demand by offering its members flexibility of choice, transparency and convenience.
