DRS Technical Services Unit Qualifies For Southwest Asia Communications Services Work
Published on ASDNews: Nov 16, 2009
(Bethesda, MD., November 13, 2009) -- DRS Defense Solutions, LLC. a wholly-owned subsidiary of DRS Technologies, Inc., announced today that its Technical Services unit has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to support the Program Manager Network Service Center (PM NSC), Defense Communications Systems Southwest Asia (DCS SWA). The award allows Technical Services to compete on the task order level for a variety of services contracts in support of the DCS SWA mission in the Southwest Asia Theater of Operations. This is one of sixteen awards made recently by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, IL.
DCS SWA provides Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) services to Department of Defense customers in theater.
The BPA allows for a range of solutions in high-capacity data, imagery, and voice capabilities to support the deployed warfighter in Southwest Asia and to allow the Army to manage its Southwest Asia Infrastructure as an Enterprise.
"We have been providing such services in theater for several years now," notes Mitch Rambler, president of DRS Technical Services Inc. "This award recognizes our efforts and will allow us to continue to propose solutions in this dynamic and austere environment."
