L-3 Awarded US Navy Systems, Software & Planning Contract

(New York, February 18, 2009) -- L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Command & Control Systems and Software (C2S2) division has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract by the U.S. Navy for software, planning and engineering services tasks. This is a one-year award with four optional years. If all options are exercised, it would be valued at $87.4 million.Under this contract, L-3 will provide a broad array of services including support for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems; unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) motion imagery software development, emergency preparedness planning, technology validation, and mission training for the Navy's ISR & Information Operations Department, various joint programs and the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Department of Homeland Security.

"By blending information technology and software capabilities from across our services business, our L-3 team will continue to be a cost-effective, low-risk source for ISR systems support and extended applications to other Navy and joint programs."
