L-3 Forms New Fuzing & Ordnance Systems Division

(Cincinnati, Ohio, February 17, 2009) -- L-3 announced that it has realigned its BT Fuze Products and KDI Precision Products businesses into a newly formed division called L-3 Fuzing & Ordnance Systems (FOS), effective January 1, 2009. L-3 FOS, a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3, is an ordnance supplier and systems integrator for the U.S. military and international allies. The company manufactures and integrates systems for artillery, tank, mortar and infantry-employed ammunition products and specializes in the development and production of fuzing and safe and arming devices."L-3 FOS combines expertise in both fuzing and ordnance systems under a single senior management team to facilitate rapid response to the warfighter's requirements while providing a broader range of solutions to both government and prime contractor customers," states Tom Walsh, president of L-3 Fuzing & Ordnance Systems. L-3 FOS employs approximately 500 people with predecessor defense industry companies dating back over 60 years.
