Crane Aerospace & Electronics to provide DC-DC Converter Modules for IRIS-T Missile

(REDMOND, Wash., October 9, 2006) -- Crane Aerospace & Electronics has been selected by Intracom S.A. Defense Electronics Systems, Athens, Greece, to supply DC-DC Converter modules for the IRIS-T missile. Intracom will use the converters in the Power Supply Unit on board the IRIS-T missile.

Dave Bender, Electronics Group President for Crane Aerospace & Electronics stated, "Crane Aerospace & Electronics products were selected due to their small size, light weight and high reliability. Our DC-DC converter modules are ideal for this type of missile application and we were awarded the contract due to our product reliability and performance for the prototype program."

The IRIS-T missile was developed by a six-nation consortium with Germany as the lead nation. The missile will be operational on the aircraft of the program partner's Air Forces, which include the Eurofighter, F-16, F-18, Tornado, F-4 Phantom and JAS 39 Gripen.
