Comtech Awarded $1.9M for Satellite Communications Products from the U.S. Government

(MELVILLE, N.Y, May 25, 2006) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded $1.9 million in orders for satellite communications equipment. The equipment will be deployed by a government customer to expand its satellite-based network infrastructure. The order encompasses the SLM-7650 Satellite Modem, the SLM-5650 High-Speed Satellite Modem and Redundancy Switches. The new SLM-5650 is compliant with the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) requirements defined in Military Standard (MIL-STD)-188-165A. This powerful and flexible modem is ideally suited for many government and military applications. The Redundancy Switches provide fully automatic or manual protection of circuits in case of equipment failure or undesirable traffic conditions.
