Elbit Systems Presents New-generation Systems and Solutions

Highlights include Mi-17 helicopter upgrade, Digital Army concepts, and Remote Control Weapon Systems Elbit Systems' advanced systems, solutions and technologies will be featured at the upcoming IDEB Exhibition, which will take place in Bratislava, Slovakia, from May 3 to 5, 2006. Representative systems from the company's major lines of business will be showcased and demonstrated. Visitors to the Elbit Systems stand will be able to view the following: ORCWS 7.62 mm, Overhead Remote Control Weapon Station Designed for optimal integration into various platforms, the ORCWS 7.62 mm has a very low silhouette and weighs less than 95 kg. It can be loaded with 690 rounds, upgradeable to 1150 or more, thus rendering it highly suited for Reconnaissance Armored Vehicles, Armored Personnel Carriers, Main Battle Tanks, Tactical Vehicles and Unmanned Ground Vehicles. All weapon station functions - cocking, re-cocking, safe & fire, elevation and traverse - are remotely controlled. ORCWS 25-30 Overhead Remote Control Weapon System – (capabilities presentation) The ORCWS 25-30 is an unmanned turret with a highly accurate, automatically-tracked day and night line-of-sight which is optically-stabilized for precise firing on-the-move with the turret's 30 mm (or 25 mm) cannon and 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun. Among its outstanding design features are a very low silhouette, light weight and a fold-down capability to no more than 50 cm.– assuring the critical advantage of transportability on C-130 aircraft. System installation requires no internal volume or deck penetration, thus preserving the internal vehicle configuration and the maximal number of crew members. All weapon functions are remotely and electrically operated from within the crew compartment without exposure to external threats. The system will be displayed at Patria's stand on its AMV 8x8 vehicle Net-Centric Digital Army Concepts A video presentation detailing how the various systems, based on a wide variety of integrated C4ISR solutions, allow armies to carry out fully interoperable missions and operations. As prime contractor of the Israel Defense Forces Digital Army Program, Elbit Systems offers a diverse portfolio of integrated C4ISR solutions based on hardware and software products. The totally integrated solutions result in increased operational effectiveness and connectivity across all levels – from headquarters all the way to the digital soldier and across all executing disciplines – Operations, Intelligence, Fire Support and Logistics. Battle Management System (BMS) - A modular battle management system for the battalion combat team, armored and reconnaissance vehicles, Elbit Systems' BMS provides enhanced situational awareness utilizing proprietary technologies. In addition to presenting traditional tactical displays and electronic moving maps, the BMS projects all tactical symbols over video. Mi-Helicopter Upgrade – The multi-role Mi-17 (ANDOR) has been upgraded by Elbit Systems and the aircraft manufacturer with advanced systems allowing it to perform day and night military missions as well as cargo, transport and search & rescue civilian applications. Incorporating hardware and software developed for the SOCAT project, the modernized MI-17 is NATO-compatible.
