New Regional Partnership for UK Aerospace

An exciting new collaboration in the UK aerospace industry was announced today (27 April 2006). The Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA) and SBAC have signed a regional partnership to strengthen support for UK aerospace companies.

Commenting on the new collaboration Andrew Mair, Chief Executive of MAA, said "The Midlands is home to one of the United Kingdom and Europe’s most significant aerospace industry clusters. Working more closely with SBAC will give MAA a stronger voice in developing national strategies and access to the full range of SBAC services, ensuring that aerospace industry initiatives and best practice processes are shared effectively."


SBAC Director General, Sally Howes, said "I am delighted to welcome Midlands Aerospace Alliance as SBAC's newest regional partner. This collaboration completes the family of regional alliances who have elected to partner with SBAC."

SBAC is committed to working closely with regional trade bodies to maximise the opportunities for companies at all levels of the supply chain. In 2005, five regional aerospace alliances became regional members of SBAC: Aerospace Wales Forum, Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, Northern Defence Industries, North West Aerospace Alliance and West of England Aerospace Forum.
