Broadband providers are seeing a surge in demand for broadband services in the urban as well as rural population. In 2014, WildBlue Communications, a company that provides high-speed data service in rural areas in the US, saw strong demand for broadband services from more than 600 retailers in rural areas. Satellite providers such as HughesNet and ViaSat are also offering high downloading and uploading speed of 10 to 15 Mbps and 1 to 3 Mbps, respectively.
