Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland Training Academy Malaysia Set to Receive an AW139 Maintenance Trainer Simulator

  • Addresses growing demand for AW139 training services in the region
  • Expands the range of AW139 training courses available in Malaysia
  • Continued expansion of AgustaWestland Training Academy Malaysia

Finmeccanica – AgustaWestland announced today that its Training Academy in Malaysia will receive an AW139 Maintenance Trainer Simulator later this year. This will enable practical elements of AW139 airframe and avionics courses to be undertaken in Malaysia by customers in the region. The full aircraft maintenance trainer simulator enables students to undertake maintenance and fault finding tasks on a “real” aircraft.

This latest announcement highlights AgustaWestland’s commitment to expand the AgustaWestland Training Academy Malaysia and offer an increasing number of courses at the facility for its customers. The availability of the AW139 Maintenance Trainer Simulator will allow customers in the region to complete both theoretical and practical elements of their AW139 training in Malaysia.

The AgustaWestland Training Academy Malaysia offers a range of courses for the AW109 Power, GrandNew and AW139 helicopters and will expand the range of courses available and to cover new types such as the AW169 and AW189 in the near future.

The AW139, as the market leader in its class, is also widely used for offshore transport, passenger transport, law enforcement, emergency medical transport, passenger transport and firefighting services.
