P&W Congratulates MRJ on Successful Engine Run

Pratt & Whitney congratulates Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation for the successful first engine run on the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ). The Pratt & Whitney PurePower® PW1200G engine is the exclusive engine for the MRJ.

We're pleased with the successful engine run marking the start of the ground test program for the MRJ. Mitsubishi Aircraft was the first airframer to choose the Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine and we look forward to supporting them through the testing that will lead to the MRJ first flight, and beyond.

The PurePower PW1200G engine for the MRJ is part of the Pratt & Whitney PurePower engine family, which has completed more than 14,000 hours and 27,000 cycles of engine testing, including more than 2,600 hours of flight testing.
