Sparton Corporation Announces Contract Award

(JACKSON, Mich., Nov. 14, 2005) -- Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider, Sparton Corporation (NYSE:SPA) announced it has been awarded a contract to produce assemblies for Raytheon-Network Centric Systems.



Sparton Corporation will produce the circuit card assemblies for the F15 AN/APX-114 Long Range Airborne IFF Interrogator System program. The initial award is valued at $2,000,000, with additional awards anticipated to be made over a three-year period. Sparton expects to commence production of the assemblies in February 2006 its Brooksville, Florida facility.

Raytheon's AN/APX-114 IFF Interrogator is said to provide the World's Most Advanced Solution for Airborne Applications. The AN/APX-114 Interrogator represents a technically advanced, compact, lightweight interrogator available for airborne, high-power applications. Designed as a replacement for the existing APX-76 Airborne Interrogator, the APX-114 has been selected by the U.S. Air Force as part of an aircraft modernization plan and by the U.K. Royal Air Force for their F-3 Tornado aircraft fleet. The Interrogator reflects significant improvements in target processing and mechanical packaging that support airborne fighter and surveillance missions well into the 21st century.
