Rockwell Collins wins new contract for common use check-in platform at Monterrey International Airport

  • First airport in Mexico to adopt ARINC vMUSE Enterprise

Rockwell Collins announced that Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) has signed a five year contract to install the company’s ARINC vMUSE Enterprise™ common use check-in platform in Terminal A of Monterrey Airport, Mexico’s fourth largest airport. Under the terms of the agreement, Rockwell Collins will also install its ARINC SelfServ Enterprise™ common use kiosk software on hosted kiosks located at the airport’s main check-in areas.

The only truly cloud-based common-use check-in platform in the industry, vMUSE Enterprise moves software functions that were formerly on the airport user's workstation into ‘virtual machines’ and extends CUPPS support to off-site locations and wireless devices. Scalable for any size airline or airport, vMUSE Enterprise reduces costs by eliminating the need for airport-based passenger IT infrastructure.

“We chose vMUSE Enterprise because it gives us tremendous flexibility,” said Mario Mosso, operations manager at OMA. “With vMUSE Enterprise, we are able to better utilize the gates at the airport, which improves operations for both the airport and the airlines.”

"vMUSE Enterprise delivers the same performance as systems running on on-site core servers including high security, reliability and manageability, but at a much lower cost," said Mike Picco, vice president, Information Management Services (IMS) for Rockwell Collins. "We are excited that Monterrey Airport and its passengers will experience all the benefits of our cloud-based architecture.”
