Azul Selects PurePower Engines for Order of 30 Embraer E-Jets

Pratt & Whitney will provide exclusive power for 30 firm Embraer E-Jets E2 aircraft, for an order announced today by Embraer and Azul Brazilian Airlines. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2020. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

"This deal with Embraer and Pratt & Whitney will help us to continue to provide the high quality, affordable air service that is synonymous with the Azul brand," said David Neeleman, Azul's founder and chief operating officer. "We are confident that E-Jets E2 aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney PurePower engines, will deliver significant operational and cost benefits."
