Aptima Awarded 2014 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award
- Company Recognized Second Time for High Standards in Industrial Security
On Tuesday, June 27, Aptima, Inc. was recognized by the Defense Security Service (DSS) as one of 40 facilities to receive the 2014 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award. This is the second time that the company has received this prestigious award.
This year’s Cogswell Award recognized 40 defense contractors from a field of 13,300 companies nominated. DSS goes through a very rigorous evaluation process of all nominated contractors which includes evaluations by several Department of Defense and industry organizations. Nomination and evaluation criteria include the establishment and maintenance of a security program that goes well beyond minimum National Industrial Security Program requirements and demonstration of leadership to other cleared facilities in setting high security standards. In addition, Cogswell awardees need to demonstrate not just excellence within its own organization but collaboration with DSS and other cleared facilities.
