CAE and Lider Aviacao to launch Sikorsky S-92 training in Sao Paulo
CAE, a world leader in aviation training, and Lider Aviacao, the largest helicopter operator in Brazil, today announced the launch of a new helicopter pilot training program in Sao Paulo for operators of the S-92 Sikorsky aircraft. The purchase of the S-92 CAE-built simulator by the CAE-Lider Aviacao joint venture was announced by CAE on December 19, 2013 as a sale to an undisclosed customer.
The S-92 training program is an extension of the joint venture between CAE and Lider, and will support flight training for all of Lider's S-92 pilots. Training will also be provided to other helicopter operators, including operators serving the growing demand for transportation in the offshore oil and gas fields of Brazil.

"This new simulator-based training program is part of our continuing investment in safety," said Junia Hermont, Lider Aviacao superintendent. "Our pilots will be able to have periodic training in a mission-oriented environment, including emergency situation simulations, and training will be domestic without the need to travel abroad."
"Lider and CAE are at the forefront of helping make helicopter transport safer and more efficient. We are using the most advanced simulation technology yet developed for civil helicopters, and delivering the highest quality training programs," said Nick Leontidis, CAE Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. "We are excited to provide our partners with flexibility and proximity, and to further develop our joint venture with Lider in this vibrant market."
The CAE 3000 Series Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) is expected to enter training in mid-2014 and will be available to provide both initial and recurrent training for all S-92 variants at CAE's training centre near Sao Paulo's Congonhas downtown airport. Training programs offered will include a turnkey 'wet' solution with simulator training delivered by qualified instructors as well as advanced classroom training and brief-debrief capabilities. Alternately, operator-led 'dry' training is also available.
